Bra Kit for the Rani Bra by Rubies Bras

The Rani Bra Kit includes both the fabrics and the findings to make one Rani Plunge Wired Bra by Rubies Bras. Everything is measured, cut, and packaged, so you can go straight from pattern to sewing table.

Gigi's Bra Supply is an Official Kit Supplier for the Rani.

This kit includes the fabrics and supplies for one Rani bra.  If you’re making a lace bra (View C), add 4 yards of your favorite lace.

  • View A, Sheer Rani — sheer cup lining for the cups, duoplex for the frame
  • View B, Solid Rani — duoplex for both cups and frame
  • View C, Lace Rani — sheer cup lining with your own lace or tulle over the top

Materials Included:

Fabrics:

  • Duoplex Reversible Low Stretch Bra Cup Fabric — cups and frame
  • Sheer Bra Cup Lining (Rubies calls this bra tulle) — sheer cup view, and the base layer under lace
  • Power Net — back band

Findings:

  • Reversible Fold-Over Elastic, 3/8″ — 3 yards, finishing the neckline and cup edges
  • Scalloped Edge Plush Elastic, 1/2″
  • Nylon Tricot Stabilizer Seam Tape
  • Plush Underwire Channeling
  • Satin Bra Strap Elastic — 1 yard
  • Sliders and Rings for adjustable straps, matched to your strap elastic
  • Nylon Hook and Eye Back Closure

Choosing Small or Large:

This is a comfort preference, not a size. Either kit will make the Rani in any size the pattern comes in — the fabrics are identical in both, because Rubies uses one materials list for the whole size range. All that changes is the scale of the hardware:

  • Small — 1/2″ strap elastic with matching 1/2″ sliders and rings, and a 2×3 hook and eye
  • Large — 3/4″ strap elastic with matching 3/4″ sliders and rings, and a 3×3 hook and eye

Some makers sewing a smaller size still prefer the wider strap and the deeper 3×3 closure — it simply feels more secure. Others in larger sizes like the smaller 1/2″ findings. Sew what you like wearing.

For the Lace view, add 4 yards of lace or tulle:

Our beautiful laces come in a variety of widths.  For the lace bra, choose a lace or embroidered tulle that is at least your Bottom Cup Depth plus 1” in width.  If you’re not sure of your Bottom Cup Depth, choose one of our laces at least 7 inches wide…you’ll have flexibility with a wider lace as you sew the pattern.

The laces and tulles in the photographs are suggestions, not requirements — we have many more beautiful laces and embroidered bra tulles so you can make your Rani bra just what you envision.

Notes:

The pattern and the underwires are NOT included in this kit.

The Rani takes one pair of Genuine Gigi’s Regular underwires.
