Ribbon, Double Faced Satin Ribbon is used as a stabilizer behind straps made from strap elastic. This ribbon can also be used for straps for camisoles and nighties.

Use 3/8" ribbon behind 1/2" Strap Elastic and 5/8" ribbon behind 3/4" Strap Elastic

To use the ribbon as a stabilizer behind a strap so that it does not show from the front, straight stitch the ribbon to the strap elastic to eliminate the “bounce” associated with all-elastic straps.

Compared to twill tape or stabilizer, this ribbon is smooth and very pretty.

ProTip: Satin ribbon can fray, so turn the edge under to keep it from fraying.
